Andrew Bellantoni was born and raised in Westchester County. Impacted by watching members of the community grapple with cancer, he decided early on that he wanted to join the fight against childhood cancer. After medical school and pediatric residency in New York, Dr. Bellantoni completed his fellowship at Duke University, where he learned from national experts in pediatric hematology, oncology, and stem cell transplantation. While at Duke, he worked in a basic science laboratory, studying the mechanisms of sarcoma formation.
